Do Mi Power Banks Supposed to Charge via AC or USB Mode?

1) Using the common cable (power + data), does Xiaomi power banks supposed to charge via AC or USB Mode?

2) Is the OEM cable in included in the packed supposed to be "power + data" or "data-only"?

3) Are the answers to questions 1 & 2 true also for the Mi 16000mAH Power Bank?

On my Mi 16000mAH, using the OEM cable, which is charge+data, it charges via "USB Mode" which is low-current. I tried the power bank of my collegue which is Pineng brand, it is charging via "AC mode".

Is this suppose to be the case for a genuine one?
