Do themes impact performance or battery?

Title says it all but wondering if themes through Samsung themes app or otherwise impact the performance or battery?

Depending on the theme I guess. You have a dark theme, that uses less light therefore less battery.. Can't imagine it would make a huge difference unless you have the screen full brightness for long periods...
I have a black theme on mine, looks great...

Anything you add or programs you run impact performance and memory. A photo background uses more resources than a solid black background because the photo uses storage room and processing power to render. Will that performance hit be noticeable? Probably not, it's minimal compared to the capability of the device. Little things do add up of course. Eventually there is potential impacts if you're running lots of other small tweaks but by itself a theme shouldn't make a noticeable difference.

Although, some theme software comes with bloatware and adware so beware.
