Phone battery drains faster than the charger can keep up.. its a 2.1ma charger which should be well strong enough...

Is this maybe a custom rom issue or do you need a non-USB charger to get this thing charged in the car?

Thanks.

This is an issue with many phones. It seemed like a small coal fire plant couldn't keep my original Droid afloat when I had navigation, bluetooth, and music going. My USB charger seems not to keep pace to about 50%, then it will charge, just slowly.

My $5 Motorola charger off Amazon does a great job keeping mine up and running while using navigation or pandora or whatever. Not sure if you got a bad one or if it's because your running a custom rom but mine does fine.

I'm running stock if it matters. I linked this charger in the other car charger thread already if you want to look at it. It's less than $5 shipped.

Some USB cables don't work. Maybe older? The one I charged at work with on my x don't work but the newer one in my car works.

All of the direct car chargers, dual USB car chargers, mains wall chargers and USB > mini USB cables (that I plug into my computers) which I used with my DX, work with my Galaxy Nexus. I have not found any power or sync item that worked with my DX to not work with my Galaxy Nexus.

All my old charges from my HTC thunderbolt, my OG Droid, and various stock chargers (Verizon brand for all micro USB) work fine. Need to play with connector to make sure its sitting right tho, once you get that it'll be fine.
