Do we know what material is the screen on the 4g?

I can't see them using plastic and I am pretty sure its glass. All of their most recent devices (android) are glass. I think the HD2 is glass as well.

I can't imagine why they'd use plastic when the HD2 is glass. One thing I'm curious of is whether or not it has a oleophobic coating like the Hero screen.

Are you guys planning on putting a screen protector on your Evo?

probably will do it. I had one on my hero from day one. Took it off, no scratches unprotected for like 3-4 weeks now. Its really durable and I've seen videos of people using keys, razor blades and coins trying to scratch it without success. Its probably not warranted, but I'll probably be ubber paranoid and put it on there.

I've had one on my Pre for a long time now, I really recommend them. Remember, if you mess up your touch screen the whole phone becomes useless. I don't even notice the protector any more.

I recommend Phantom Skinz for screen protectors.

If it's glass I am not worried at all about it scratching. My Pre has been flying naked since June of 09, and while there are a few marks in it, it's nothing spectacular. Seeing that the Pre has a plastic screen, I am not too worried about the Evo.
