So the primary reason I wanted to root my phone was to get and use SetCPU, mostly so I could underclock when not really using the phone to preserve battery life and such. I haven't yet rooted the phone, however, because I don't want to lose all my data, apps, and settings I spent a long time getting the way I like them.
I've used Quadrant for a while now for various purposes, and I've noticed something interesting under the "System Information" section. Under the CPU subsetting, there are entries for Current Freq, Max Freq, and Min Freq. Many times my current freq is 1024, but I've also noticed it being much, much lower, seemingly dependent on my usage. I've seen it as low as 245 (like right now, actually).
Does this mean the CPU scales itself automatically, and that we don't need SetCPU to do this for us? Or am I missing something?
