Do you as a droid user feel your phone is superior to the iPhone?

Just like title says. Post your comments here. I honestly feel that my phone is superior to the iPhone. Not because of what droid does (haha), but because the apple os for the iphone is the same, with just a few added features. But, the droid has the android os, which I feel is the next best thing, especially with google taking care of their consumers. Just post your comments and let everyone know how you feel. Let the DROID invasion begin!!!

I do! Better screen by far! With some apps and a few tweaks of personality it is coming along awesome! I would love to see a better physical keyboard in the future if they decide to keep that or maybe a version slimmer and without the keybord but keeping the industrial feel. Hands down best phone I've ever had and working in the industry since the Motorola bag phone days I have had many many many phones over the years.

In some ways yes in some no but I love it I'm not locked into the whole apple thing and being locked into iTunes so I'm Droid all the way

I've never fully used an iphone other than a few taps here and there on friends devices. Looking at reviews here and there I am comfortable that the Droid is as good as the iphone but others will disagree. Most people feel the need to think their choice in phone, tv, car, etc. is the best but who really knows? I do think I have the best phone Verizon offers currently and I enjoy using it.

As far as the Browser experience goes, In my personal opinion after using both, the iphone wins as of right now. Thats because the 2.0.1 update killed my browsing experience on my phone. I returned my first Droid and got a new one to see if it was possibly the phone itself but its not. As for everything else. I love the Droid hands down but Browser, my hats off to iphone until they fix the damn choppiness of scrolling on the web

I also noticed that in the 2.0.1 update.. If you use Dolphin it's a bit smoother. And if you're up for it, you could always install 2.1 onto your Droid. I did on my Droid and the scrolling is much smoother.

If I had to pick just 1 phone to use daily, it would be the Droid over the iPhone. Both are great phones but Droid on VZ is a win win situation. By the way I do own both the Droid and the iPhone, but to own just one, it would be the Droid on VZ.

For me, I think the Droid is better. I like to customize my things and the droid obviously allows for plenty of that. The browser is fast and pretty lol, and the messaging services handle my needs very well. Would I rather it be half as thin with no physical keyboard.. most likely but I still like the physical, it has its purposes.

I am glad I didnt have to make that choice though.

I'm not sure if it's superior, but it's definitely an argument now. Earlier this year I was given the chance to change my company phone. We've always had base phones or blackberries. I had my personal blackberry through Verizon so I never bothered getting a company blackberry. My boss asked if I wanted a blackberry and I told him no, but I'd like to try an iphone 3gs. I'd played around with friends iphones and I own an ipod touch so I knew my way around. I got the phone and lack of good quality signal for voice and even less 3G service was very disappointing. Not being able to run multiple programs was a deal breaker too. In the end I gave the iphone back to work and stayed with my blackberry. Even got work to just start paying for my service through Verizon which was a bonus. Fast forward to recently when I got the Droid. It was a little bit frustrating at first getting my phone customized the way I wanted. It took a while for a few apps to be released to really get things the way I like with the calendar and my sound profiles. Not having push for my work email is a slight bummer, but I have my gmail checking it and pushing it to the phone so the longest it takes to get an email is an hour. I don't need immediate email push so this is good enough. Now that I've used the Droid a while I'm really on board. I do wish it was basically the front part of the slider without the sliding out keyboard part. Of course you'd need a little of the thickness for a battery compartment. Maybe even take out the keyboard and keep the same size only no slider. Use that entire back area for a mondo 2500 or 3000 mah battery for long life. There are things I'd change and I hope Motorola or others will continually release better and better versions. In the end it comes down to this: My friend asked me if Verizon ever got the iphone would I get one. I said without a doubt. He asked me the same question last week after using the Droid for a couple weeks. My answer was, "I don't think so". I think that speaks volumes about how good the Droid is now. At this point the iphone would have to make some kind of big leap ahead for me to see it as a must have item again. Sorry for the long rant to answer a simple question.

I have an Ipod Touch and after getting my Moto Droid I have'nt touched my Ipod since. I even gave to my Son. The user experience to me is about the same but I love to customize my phone to my liking and I like the fact I don't have to have Itunes for my product to work to its extent.

Yes I think it is better. I know some things dont always look as good, but people need to keep in mind the length of time the iPhone has had to work out their bugs and get their apps straight. I look through these forums and laugh at the people complaining that things arent perfect. Give it time. The Android platform is a beast.

I had an iPhone for the better part of the past 16 months and the 2 biggest complaints I had were the lack of 3G on AT&T in my area where I live, and the lack of multi-tasking. I have had a Droid now for 10 days and I am really starting to like it. I was second guessing myself coming over to Verizon initially and had waffling episodes that would make Favre look like he's normal. But so far I am sticking with it. The screen on the Droid is absolutely stunning and unless Apple introduces a new HD-like screen on their device, it will pale in comparison for years. I will never say that I would never go back to AT&T and the iPhone because if an OS update brings multitasking, and a new screen on the next hardware update, and 3G is put in my area, then I would consider it but until then, the Droid is it.

If I could get the damn update to open while trying to root my phone I would have 2.1 but the thing doesnt wanna seem to work

I have considered just going with my Droid and not using my iPod touch, but I already have a car dock for my touch that links it to my car stereo and keeps it charged. If I went to using my Droid for music and podcasts the battery wouldn't last all day due to my hour commute each way. I already buy my tunes from Amazon so all that ties me to Itunes is the podcasts, but I'm ok with that. As it is I can get thru my 17 hour day with about 50% battery left so I have some flexibility if I need to do more talking or data.

I don't know if I feel superior but I defiently feel that I have a good phone on my hands. I actually bought my girlfriend her iphone and I jailbroke it so she could use it on T-Mobile. I'm a huge fan of Apple but I know people want the phone because its an Apple alone. I have a itouch and its very close to the iphone. Not to mention I fix my girlfriends iphone if anything is wrong with it. Before the Droid came out I thought for sure I would be getting an iphone. Talking on the phone is okay, the best way to download an app is thru wifi. Its light, sleek. I love my Droid, I'm very very happy with it. My Droid has done everything I've wanted and needed it to do.

I didn't see it posted anywhere here but just a couple things I really would like to see added to the Droid to make it perfect IMHO..

1) DRM supported media player. Whether it be for music (purchased, monthly sub plans), videos (digitals copies) or anything else that needs DRM would be greatly appreciated. Maybe even a slicker interface to boot.

2) Active Sync security protocols for those of us that use their phone for work and have anal IT techs that worrfy about the lack of security when using company email exchange.

3) A better browser (although the browser for the Droid is actually very good) WITH full flash support. Now I know there isn't one browser out there that can boast this but why not SET the standard rather than follow the pack?

Both phones have their pros and cons. It really comes down to a matter of personal preference. Until the Droid, IMO, Verizon didn't carry a smartphone that had a decent web browser. That is why I went to the iPhone but came running back to Verizon. Safari is still a better browser but android's is a close second. Add the network, multitasking, and all the other pros and the Droid is for me.
