Do you drain your new phone's battery?

Hey guys! Can't seem to find the answer to this question on the forums so I might as well ask.

Do you guys believe that you should drain your new phone's battery before charging it for the first time? I just got a new phone (Xperia Z2) and the Sony person told me to drain it until about 5% then charge it for 4 hours.

I thought that this "ritual" was already obsolete? Or is it not?

I wanna know what you guys think before I actually start charging my phone for the first time.

I agree, "ritual" is obsolete
Won't do any harm to do as suggested
This advice from the sales person could be his own opinion and not backed up by the company
Email the company and hopefully get official advice in writing saying exactly what they recommend

You shouldn't even use the battery before the first full charge. Then use it until the phone tells you to recharge it. Repeat 3 times. (From then on, try to recharge around the 50% discharged point.)
