Do you have to install Kitkat?

Its unfortunate but there are so many plans. pre-paid, post paid etc. Some have features others don't. I do know of others that have had basic prepaid plans and when they tried to set up to tether it didn't work. If you ask the reps at T-Mo which I have done on several occasions my plan is not supposed to let me tether. It does and until it doesn't I will not make any changes and would suggest anyone else who is on pre-paid walmart plan to leave as is if it is working for you.

I just put $30.00 into my account and renewed for a month. Leaving in the morning and will try to see if tethering still works when we get to our hotel the first night.

Sorry, not to hijack the thread (if there's another one, just let me know), but with all this TMobile $30 plan tethering talk, I thought that a month or so ago TMobile enabled tethering for the $30 prepaid plan up to 100mb or something? Just asking because I don't even see it listed on my TMobile "usage" notification app that I click on. Just wondering if it just "appeared" for people on TMobile, or did you have to call/sign up for something to get it?

On the KK note, I also just want to stay on 4.3 and not upgrade to 4.4. I love my Nexus 4 and it works great :)

Thanks!

I don't quite understand the logic behind paying for tethering (well besides obviously making more money for operator). If I am already paying for 5gb monthly transfer for my device, how does it matter in what way I use the quota? It is the same as limiting who can talk on my phone, eg. I have 1000 minutes/month, but if my wife uses my phone she must not talk for more than 100 minutes/moth. Ridiculous!

[Luckily my wife and I still run on Human 1.0, and we're not upgradable. ;)]
