Do you keep 4G enabled throughout the day?

I leave it on all day at work. I get the same battery as 3g because it has the sleep function. That is a feature that is rarely talked about and it is great. I can surf 4g all day and still have like 60% battery when I go home. I get 6-8 mg/s at work. It is instant, almost as fast as my desktop.:)

I just noticed that keeping 4G ON is not as Battery intensive as I though! I came from an Evo 4G and keeping 4G ON was a nightmare on my Battery! I have a full charge this morning, I will keep 4G ON throughout the day and keep my eyes on the battery.

All day & all night, consistently. I don't use 3g unless I have to. Battery life is acceptable

I cant believe none of the reviews talk about the sleep function on 4g. It is one of the greatest features on the phone if you ask me. My evo was the same, if it was left on it would suck the battery down in no time. I can leave this one on all day and it no different than 3g.

Can you explain this? I still don't have my phone yet (lettalks...sigh) and I'm interested in what exactly this is since, like you said, it's not mentioned in reviews.

I leave my 4g on all day long and I haven't the slightest battery issue. After heavy usage I was down to 42% by the end of my work day.

I keep mine on all day and night. Since I got the phone on Friday (after the initial first full charge) I've never turned it off. From 4am until I hit the pillow! I get about 15-20 emails per day, send a few text msgs to the ole' lady, check FB occasionally and some moderate surfing and I'm still at about 20% at 10pm. Love it!! This thing has spoiled me, if the next generation of 4G phones don't have this feature I'm gonna be upset!!!

It is nothing big, no one talked about it because it is obvious and not a hidden feature, photon does it as well and so does evo 3d I believe.

If you have 4g enabled and not using it, it will put ZZZ on top of 4g symbol, meaning it is not being used.

If you want the battery to last, you better be in a damn good 4g coverage area, if it disconnects it will rescan once every few mins. That is the issue in my case, and wimax, it is spotty as hell.

This may be true but it must be implemented different. The guy that works 10 feet from me has the 3d, he can leave his 4g on all day and it kills the battery by about 3pm, now granted the battery sucks on that thing just like the og evo but I can leave mine on 4g all day let it sit for an hour and loose just a couple percent his looses like 15% per hour if it is left on. Not using it too, just sitting on the bench. It is the same trend as the og evo also, it would be warm to the touch just sitting on our work counter.
