Do you keep a bunch of apps open in the background?

I guess it's my OCD but I'm a fanatic for closing background apps all the time. :p

Do you keep a bunch of apps open or keep closing them ?

Just wondering if there were other app closing maniacs like myself out there?

I occasionally close all apps, but it's not a priority. Phones are so fast nowadays that it doesn't make much of a difference.

Can't recall when was the last time I bothered about that. I'll leave up to awesome modern OS's to take care of that stuff for me

OP previous phone must be 10 years old because who actually worries about that with modern phones?
That's not a very nice remark, to each his own. I also close all apps before putting the phone down, not because I think it makes a difference but because it's been a habit for many years.

I don't understand why or how you come to that conclusion based on someone closing their apps. OP probably trades up phones more often than you do.

Open and running apps which have permissions can be abused by app developers, and has been reported repeatedly. Those with GPS, phone state, contact list and other permissions should be closed simply for security reasons.
Using developer options, toggling 'don't keep activities' after leaving is a compromise at best.

I notice you can limit app location permissions to only while app is in use or something like that but I imagine running in the background constitutes use.

I close most apps more out of habit than anything else. I tend to leave Email and Signal (my SMS app) open all the time. Other than that everything else gets closed periodically. I don't close them out as I use them, but every day or 2 I do.

Phones also remind you to restart once in awhile. That's something I believe in

I close every app I open before I lock my phone. And if I don't, I am anxious about it. My husband, on the other hand, has all of his apps open and is okay with it! We all have our preferences!

I've had my Ultra for 11 days now. Should I restart? How often? I haven't had any restart reminders.
I don't think I have either but I've restarted it on occasion. Maybe it's a setting. It did it on my S10 and Note 10

I found auto restart but that's not what I was referring toScreenshot_20200314-173456_Device%20care.jpeg

I can assure his previous phone wasn't that old, since I see him in pretty much every Samsung pre-order thread. Like many others he built up a habit over the years of closing all apps frequently. It's muscle memory, after a while it's hard to turn it off. Throw in a little ocd then it's pretty much impossible to stop.

Are you not supposed to restart under 30%?
I don't think you're gonna hurt anything. That's just the OS being extra cautious. I believe once a week is sufficient enough for reboots. I used to have my note 10 scheduled for every Sunday night.

You can restart whenever you want.

Have you restarted since you owned. I believe if you have auto restart off you get the reminder. You don't have to wait though....just restart once in awhile

I restart maybe once a week. I may initiate some reminders in the future.
