I know BBM is great but there's an app for Android and the IPhone that's just like it its called PMESSENGER if you have it add me 1F4603C1 and when you get it add me

I don't wanna beat a dead horse, but I'm gonna repeat what I said in another thread regarding pmessenger...

And on a side note, I noticed that the new trend in app development seems to be "universal messaging apps between device platforms". Well, if there are 10 different apps that are "universal" but can only communicate between users of that particular app, how are we really any closer to universal messaging than we are already with systems such as AIM, Y!IM, GTalk, etc?

I don't need yet another messenger that is limited to users of that particular app. So I'll pass. No matter how many platforms it runs on, it's only as useful as the amount of users, not compatible devices.

That I think is going to be one of the things I miss the most from the Blackberry - Especially since my wife still has her 8900...

BUT - Adapt and Change...That's the name of the game isnt it?? LOL

cnectd works on iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia devices. Chat, share images, locations and connect to facebook right from their website. Cnectd
I have it on my evo and my dad has it on his blackberry, works great.

Trying to put this on my daughter's BB. I get the error that it is missing net_rim_bbapi_messagelist. I googled it but couldn't find how to get the missing file on the BB. Anybody know how?

And now that I am using the app I don't see how it even compares to BBM. My wife really loved all of the emoticons available in BBM. Am I just missing them in this app?

Cnectd is a ok app but they need to work on it a little more its not as fast as PM and at time you don't get msg onto the next day and I don't need people I don't know where I em you should be able to turn the location off but you can't I know a lot of people with cnectd and that one of the biggest reasons that they got rid of it and then another things is you can't see some people pic's I think PM is a way better app

I agree with you - for text-based messages, I don't get the need for anything beyond SMS or email, which are about as universal as it gets. Anything that can only communicate with another copy of itself on the other end isn't universal, by any stretch of the imagination. But then again, I don't really get the whole attraction of messaging in the first place. I know Android (2.1 and higher) have speech-to-text built in, but if I need to quickly convey information to someone, I prefer the tried and true speech-to-ear - I call them and say what I have to say.

pMessenger

Hey Guys,

I am a Blackberry convert like many of you here. One of the thing I missed the most was BBM when I left Blackberry.

I recently used both "cnectd" and "pMessenger" from my Droid. I must say that pMessenger seemed a lot faster and much more stable, and even easier on my battery.

pMessenger also works on BB - Apple - Android, and they use the same hex PIN that a BB user is already familiar with. I am defninintly going to get more of my friends on pMessenger, I will also rate it higher so the developers realize what a great app they have on their hands.

Saves on texting and pic sending and it also gives you more options like a status, a contact picture, etc.

Just customized my profile pic and background. I'm really liking pMessenger! Now if I could just get more people to download it.....lol
