Do you notice the ram difference between lollipop and kitkat?

So ive been on lp for about 3 weeks now and I have to say it definitely takes up more ram than kitkat. I will only be using a few apps and I'll look and it will be at 2.28ish. I never saw it that high on kitkat. Am I the only one or is this normal for most of you guys and gals?

Are you seeing a difference in performance? The higher ram usage is not anything to worry about.

Yes. When it's that high and having a 2.77 limit the phone won't launch apps or they'll stop working until I clear the ram and close down the apps I had running in the background. For instance I have Tapatalk, browser and my settings open in the background and I'm at 2.42 out of 2.77

Try clearing cache through recovery. That may provide some relief. If Samsung hasn't patched known ram leaks then the issue will occur until an update is pushed by Samsung. Aside from that, how are you liking the Lollipop?

What Is recovery? Is that holding down the mfb button and clearing it that way? If so that's what I have been doing.

Sorry about that, should have provided a little more detail. Recovery is accessed by powering the phone off. Hold home button+volume down+power on until a screen loads that says recovery. Use the volume down button to select "clear (wipe) cache" and power button to accept. Reboot.

Be sure not to select factory reset or clear data. That will erase the device and you'll lose all content on the device if it wasn't backed up.

I just tried that and all I got was a screen that said volume up to load a custom os and volume down just restarts the phone. Did I do something wrong?

It's the Vol. Up key on Note 3 (instead of vol down). You can also google & go to a video of the procedure on youtube

I've been experiencing the same problem since the update a few weeks or so ago. I even tried rebooting & clearing the cache. I use the task manager to close apps & clear the memory, but this doesn't usually do anything. If it does reduce it a bit it will only last seconds before skyrocketing back up (when I don't even open any apps or do anything).

I must be one of the few lucky ones...my Note 3 actually got FASTER after the upgrade to lollipop. Other than that I really don't care for it. Working on changing the appearance to be less obnoxious.

Oh yes, I see the difference with my xperia Z. There is a not big difference but its quite good to see more memory free

Yeah I use Nova launcher occasionally. So when I want the phone to look like it used to I just activate it. Lol

I just did a wipe and restore on my phone because she was crammed up with random memory that I couldn't clear. It seems to be doing better now.

After the update I did also feel the increase in speed and performance but I saw the ram usage and knew something was a but funky.
