Do you pay for protection plans?

I feel bad you broke your screen but I'm not sure I would recommend committing fraud to get a new one.

I just dropped my htc dna on tile, and the whole screen cracked in like every possible spot. Phone still works but its cracked everywhere, I don't know what to do and it has been more than 30 days since I purchased it. I was gonna get the square trade warranty and lie on the form saying i got i on 2/10/13 because my invoice says 1/30/13. I was gonna scan my invoice into my computer, change the date from 1/30/13 to 2/10/13 and then save it so when i make a claim I can send the one with the dates changed. My question is do they actually verify the invoice with the place you got it from, or do they just look at the date on there to make sure it matches the one you put when you signed up and then give you the new phone?

I really don't want to but a new phone for $600 and this is the first time I have ever broken a phone and I don't really know what else to do.

The thing to do is pay for the repair or new phone. Anything else is dishonest and makes you a thief.

Is there like a chain that does phone repairs, or do I have to look for a random phone repair place somewhere in my area? Is it better to get it repaired or get a new phone?

You can search around online for shops in your area. You may find some, may not. Also, at least in my area, it is harder to find one that will repair any Android phone. Many only fix Apple products. Then some will only fix Samsung products as well. Don't know of any chain stores that fix HTC phones though. In my area I could only find one store that would fix the screen on my Thunderbolt, but it would have cost almost $300. Also get in touch with HTC, they will fix it for a decent price, but you won't have a phone for a few weeks. I don't recommend trying to defraud a insurance company.

Last summer, we were on our dock. My phone was on the table in the middle of our 18 x 18' deck. A big gust of wind blew up and my phone, prescription glasses and a friend's wallet and keys went into the water.

We never did find the phone, but recovered everything else. I have insurance on the phone now! :-)

Now finding the phone has turned into a Where's Waldo game.

Wow. That's must have one hell of a wind gust
