Do you think I can use most of the features while using a secondary launcher?

I really hate touch wiz. It's just so ugly Imo. If I get the new note, can I use nova launcher, and use things like air commands, multi tasking, and the other stuff that comes with it?

That's a good question. I know Samsung widgets and apps are typically inaccessible if the Launcher is changed. Not sure about Air Commands, but multi tasking (at least via long press home to bring up recently used apps) is not. If you are referring to the multi-window multi-tasking, then that may not work either.

I use Nova on a rooted Note 2; everything (including air commands, multi window, multi task) works just fine. If I remember correctly, you don't get the same menu when you pull the s-pen, but everything else works as expected.

If you go to a different ROM like Cyanogen, you lose everything, but can get some s-pen features back via specific apps.

I run Nova Prime (not rooted) on my current 10.1 and SGS4 and get all the multi-window features no sweat.

So you don't need to be rooted to use Nova Prime or Apex launcher? And with that you still maintain all the Spen functionality? If true I will probably do this...Thanks for any info!

You do lose SOME functionality that's launcher-related, like some hovering actions on the homescreen, Samsung Widgets will be inaccessible, some have reported not being able to use the Action Wheel if not on TouchWiz, but some others have been able to, so I'm not sure if all builds will be the same...

Chances are that if you don't like TouchWiz for whatever reason, then you're not really using these features that regularly, so probably you won't miss them and may not even notice they're gone anyway.
