Do you think the camera is slow?

I have an S8+ and I'm thinking about buying one of the new models. Today I tried the smallest one, and the responsiveness when taking a picture was underwhelming.

(It took me back to my Nokia 1020 days when I wanted to take a pic of a friend jumping into the sea, but the camera was too slow and the pic only showed water because my friend was already below the surface..)

What do you think? Is the camera slow?

Also, is there some kind of workaround to make it more responsive? A permanent setting preferably, as I wouldn't like changing camera mode and shutter speed every time.

Have you checked out the various YouTube creators videos on the cameras ?

It might be possible thst the in-store units have retail demo software on them too.

I have seen a few, with one of them (that guy that sits on a chair that's set too low) mentioning that the camera is a bit slow.

AFAIK, Samsung phone cameras have always been shutter laggy. It kinda kills the experience. They improved S Pen latency; not sure why they can't resolve this issue with the camera.

If the S22 was as fast as my S8+ in this regard I'd be more than happy with it.

Just to clarify for everyone, I'm posting here just to hear what end users think about it.

I just realized that finding end users at this point might be tricky, I posted this too early.

I'm surprised too find myself thinking that shutter lag is the number one deal breaker right now. Never thought that would happen again, still hoping that I'm wrong tho. On top of that, I live in Europe which means that the S22's have Samsung chips.

While I'm not too bothered about the GPU being inferior to the Qualcomm variant, I don't want to miss out on the seemingly great signal handling. Having better reception in the countryside is more important to me than peak download speed, if that makes sense.

Samsung's Galaxy S22 Is a Low-Signal Beast

There was a YT review (forgot which one exactly) on the S22 Ultra where the reviewer stated that the shutter lag is still there. I like my full frame digital camera for its responsiveness and image quality, but I'm not gonna lug that behemoth everywhere I go lol.

While looking for answers I saw all the Reddit posts about S21 camera lag. Turning on enhanced processing may help according to some.
(settings > battery and device care > battery > more battery settings > enhanced processing)

I'm tempted to go back to the store and try it tomorrow.

I actually wanted to ask the question of shutter speed I feel like my note 20 ultra has an ever so slight shutter lag, I'm really hoping it's not the case with the S22 ultra
