Let's talk about cables and which we use. Personally I dislike stock cables and bought Remax Silver Serpent Series. It's very good quality cable with Aluminium Alloy and Metal Spring Wire & comes with different colors and mine suits my half black/silver phone perfectly.

I use the Note 8 stock cable on the rare occasion that I plug in at home. I have a 3rd party usb-c cable for the car, but I use fast wireless charging all of the time at work and most of the time at home.

I do most of my charging at home with the stock cable for my LG V30.

I also have a 3rd party cable for the car and at work.

I wouldn't say I use the "stock" cable but it's not really "custom" to the extent the OP described. I use a USB-C to USB-C cable from Anker, with an Anker PowerPort 5 USB-C charger for most of my charging with my Pixel 2 XL. I use either the same setup or the stock cable for my Samsung Tab S3 as I can only use USB-C to USB-C on one device at a time with that setup. The cable that came with my phone hangs out in my bag.

I'll use the OEM cable until it breaks. After that, use Volutz cables. www.volutz.com

I've tried a ton in the past when I was using micro-USB cables, from cheap no-names to expensive OEM cables. Everything seemed to suck equally until I found these and just kept with them. They last quite a long time and have larger than standard power wires so even the 10 ft cables charge at full speed.

Stock chargers are too short, and always break. I have bought more chargers than I can count. Now I use Rampow or similar

I use both. The OEM cable is one cable I use at home. I also have an Anker cable that is 6 ft long at home, and an Anker cable that is 3 ft long in my car.

I use 3rd party cables for charging, which always seem to work fine for my Android devices. I usually get longer cables (6 ft) which are braided for durability.

The PowerPort 5 USB C is a life saver! A must have for sure.
