Does the dock have a separate shut off? i have not used it all that much but a couple nights ago, i charged it til it turned green. it has been on maybe 2 hours since but it is blinking red now. What gives?

By the way, the tablet portion shows 82% charge.

I loaded "bat stat" from marketplace. It shows always charging the tablet after connecting the keyboard with battery.

I noticed the keyboard light is red when its charging, and blue or green (do not remember) when charged. Also, I just noticed my USB cable extension does not work from the plug. I am looking for a way to extend the length of the power cable.

I think your keyboard must be almost totally discharged if your tablet is down to 82%.

if his table is showing 8% then his dock battery is pretty much dead. As for the light when it's charged, it's green. As for the extension cable it'll have to be at least a usb 3.0 cable. For some reason though not every one seems to work. Check other threads on here and xda and you'll find info about what cables work and what don't.

What I'm saying is that nothing is currently being charged. Of course you have to charge it as a unit with the keyboard attachment on. The tablet reads 82% charge but the keyboard has a little red light blinking as if it is low on battery.

I was wondering if the keyboard goes off when I turn the tablet off or does it stay on and drains it's own battery. I don't see a separate button to turn the keyboard off or on. There is no way the dock should be lo on battery but the keyboard be 82% especially since the combo has been used maybe 2 to 3 hours max over the past couple days.

I do not know why it has a problem charging. My keyboard manual says:
"Battery Charge Indicator (dual-color):
Green ON: Batter power is between 95% and 100%
Orange ON: Battery power is less than 95%
Orange Blinking: Battery power is less than 10%
Orange Blinking Quickly: Battery power is less than 5%"

If the pad does not charge you might get it replaced. One test is to plug the cable into the tablet separately. If the tablet charges it is good, if not it might be the cable or power adapter with usb female.

Good luck.

The keyboard will charge the tablet when it is docked (the idea is to obtain the highest level of charge in the tablet for when you next disconnect.) If your keyboard was blinking and your tablet was showing 82% it means that your keyboard was charging your tablet (and it got up to 82%) for the two hours it was docked and is now out of juice.

Plug it in to recharge it.

Thanks for the info. I just ordered a 10ft USB 3 extension at newegg.

I tested my other wall chargers and *none* work on the TF. I am concerned about getting a spare wall charger. I have been checking asus website for a while but they are not in stock. I do not want to roll-my-own. I am not much concerned about a car charger because I can use an inverter.

Please asus, start selling spare wall chargers !!! :)

The dock is supposed to have improved standby with the lastest update. There is no power button so you can't turn it off which sucks. Even without use you may find it necessary to charge the dock fully every other day

amazon has spare chargers for just under $25 so not to bad also if you plug the transformer into a car usb charger then the transformer charges at around 2% per hr but does not show it is charging except for when you check the charge level later it has gone up.

I have not encountered the need for an extension charging cable. The battery life is so awesome that I have not used it while plugged in a single time since owning it for a couple months
