Does Android Marshmallow allow you to toggle mobile data on and off?

This facility was available via a simple toggle up to Kitkat but was removed in Lollipop. Various battery saving apps also used to allow mobile data to be turned off when the phone was sleeping. Again, this was stopped in Lollipop. I reverted to Kitkat because I can get over 3 days battery on my Nexux 4. Lollipop never got more than 36 hours.

This is not in MM either. What you can do is this: In a third party launcher, like Nova, you can set a widget>Activities (should be at the top)>Select Settings>data usage. That will at least get you to where you are only 2 taps from cutting off your data.

May I ask why and when you need this? There may be a better answer.

Golfdriver - Thanks for your reply. I use an app which can switch both wifi and mobile data off when the phone is sleeping. I don't care about getting emails etc when the phone is asleep. I can still receive calls and texts obviously. Without having to manually turn anything off I get virtually no battery drain during 7-8 hours of sleep at night - maybe 3-4%. Lollipop blocked this and I was back down to not much more than a days battery even on low usage. I downgraded to kitkat (actually cyanogenmod 11 - so I don't continually get nagged by google to upgrade!)

LeoRex - that is a manual intervention of several steps. Sorry if I was unclear. Lollipop blocks apps that allow turning off mobile data when the phone is asleep. That is why I went back to Kitkat (CM11)

Ah... yes, things were obfuscated a bit starting in 5.0.... Google closed a lot of security holes, and a lot of the functions like this got caught up in its wake. To get them back, you'll either need to load a custom ROM that includes these controls, or cobble together the functions from something like Tasker with the Secure Settings plugin.

Tasker would be quite easy. I'm not sure if secure settings would be required. I don't need it for my daily WiFi activation. But, then again, I never tried it for mobile data.
