Samsung offered off contract verizon Galaxy S III that was mentioned a couple of weeks ago?
I have the unlimited data on a Thunderbolt and may upgrade to the GS III.

I believe there is going to be a developer edition that Samsung is going to offer since the bootloader is locked on the VZW one. I may be incorrect, I am sure others may have more info.

There is a 16gb developer edition offered directly from Samsung that is compatible with Verizon. If you don't care about the bootloader you can still purchase the s3 off contract from big red. 599.99 for the 16gb and 649.99 for the 32gb if memory serves. The s3 is a great phone imho and would be a welcome step up from the TB. If you have not seen one in person I would stop by your local store and check it out.

I had the T-Bolt and got the S3 and LOVE IT!!!!! I had to pay retail, cause I have the Unlimited data, my bill would've gone up $30 a month. $200 for phone+ $30 upgrade fee+ $30 a month times 24 months= $950 for a $600phone FU I'm also doubling my data usage, cause the display is AWESOME; so now I watch Netflix on it

And you can't watch Netflix on your computer?

Where exactly does it say that the so called developer edition has an unlockable bootloader? I looked at the linked site and the spec sheet and didn't see any mention of the bootloader.

I have a feeling that Verizon is none too happy about this developer device being released for use on their network. If this device ever gets released, it will pretty much invalidate Verizon's claim that locking and encrypting bootloaders is so that the network and other user's "experience on the network" won't be affected.

It was a pretty big deal actually on the Android world. Just Google it and there are plenty of articles on it (Android Central) wrote some as well.

I heard all the buzz as well, but my point is that on the very site that these are going to be sold from, they don't mention the bootloader. That's a pretty big omission IMO.
