Keep that option On if you are on a capped/limited data plan, it does a great job of ensuring your data is not used.

For some reason flipboard went nuts on my note 8, and used 4gb of data! How it could use that much is beyond me... Even live streaming several 360 videos with the gear 360 didn't use neat that much.

As a result, we are down to less than 1.5 gb using our overage roll over data with verizon. If it's on, does it not throttle if you have data available on your plan?

It sounds like something useful to just leave on 24/7 just in case.
