Does anyone prefer the 2 button navigation layout?

I tried the full gesture nav and I really don't care for it. Overall I like 3 button babe but sometimes it does feel a little disjointed as you tap then swipe to get to app drawer (while in an app already). Double tap square to get to last app. I'm trying 2 button again and actually like it. I think it might be the right combination of buttons and gestures. Wish it still had the hold and slide carousel though.

When I figured out that I was going with the S10+ I decided after a few review videos I was going to adopt the gestures without buttons or indicators. It was OK. I got used to it and didn't mind its little quirks. I didn't use the carousel feature but I've seen where many users miss it and like you hope or wish they'd bring it back.

Since the update to Android 10 I've switched to the full screen gestures. They're quirky in a whole different way at least on the S10. Samsung likes to hide things along the edges. So if I swipe too high on the right side my side panel opens, and yes I've repositioned it higher because I used to grab it when I played certain games. At this point though I'm about to turn it off because I just don't use it.

Home works pretty well from the bottom right. This is also the side I usually open multitasking from. Bottom left some times works for home but a lot of the time I end up pulling up Google Assistant. Not sure if this is timing issue where I'm moving slower or that's how it's supposed to be but yeah. The bottom middle is Samsung Pay and I left the indicator bigger for that to help avoid grabbing it but I still manage to from time to time.

The left back is just not as natural so I rarely use it.

My biggest issue with full screen gestures is sometimes I don't dig deep enough and get a big screen of nothing. The other thing is when you're in an app, especially with back, I have to grab twice. I guess it isn't much different than tapping to get the buttons to use the buttons, just a different motion.

Would I go back to the buttons? I never really thought about it until your post but I kind of feel like this is the direction devices are headed so I'm in for awhile longer. Of course I can remember when everyone coveted carousel home screens, for those who don't know, picture a multi-panel home screen and if you scroll in either direction it goes continuously all the way round to where you started without having to go back, and how I thought those were going to last and be around forever. Look at me now I only use one home screen panel and it has everything I need right there.
