Hey guys, as the title says does the new GB update fix the droid x wifi issues? Like many others, the wifi on my Droid X still doesn't connect properly to wifi. Its the most annoying thing ever as it connects then disconnects then connects and disconnects on and on.

Really really hope they fix this with the update! Thanks for the help in advance.

I haven't had that issue on Froyo or Gingerbread, but it seems to still have the issue where you have to open wifi window sometime before the wifi tries to connect after its been first turned on.

On OTA manual install of stock GB, there is a lag in wifi connecting, once activated. But it's only maybe 5-10 seconds or so. Once connected, I haven't had any problems with it disconnecting. Sometimes, I forget wifi is on and it will stay on without any problems for a day or so (assuming I'm within range of the router during that time) or longer.

I had that problem with Froyo. I fixed it by going into my routers settings and adding my Xs mac address to approved devices, haven't had an issue since then. The wifi on gingerbread seems more stable, but I haven't thoroughly tested it because it's still approved on my router.

I have had a few issues on both FroYo and GB; however, I think it is due to my router. Sometimes it won't connect and I refresh my router and everything is fine. I think it is an IP address conflict. The only problem that I do have with GB, is sometimes 3G will not come back without having to restart my phone when either switching from wifi to 3G or after ending a call. Other than that, the leaked GB is awesome!

I've experienced issues with wifi just stopping. I end up having to turn airplane mode on and off. It's really aggravating especially since you keep hearing about tiered data pricing in the future, etc. You can't put tiered data pricing on people when their wifi connections are unreliable!!!

I do think sometimes the issues could be ip conflicts. I played with some of the advanced wifi settings and since changing this (below) I haven't seen my wifi "dump". That's not to say it won't, I just haven't witnessed it. I've definitely experienced it without the updated setting:

Use Static IP (Check)
IP Address: 192.168.1.20 (not sure how I came up with .20)
Gateway: 255.255.0.1 (not sure how I came up with THAT, either).

In fact, with these settings I'm not sure how wifi is even working at all!!
