Does installing another launcher improve performance?

I'm not talking about rooting, but just installing a different launcher. I have an iPhone 5 now and am interested in switching. Though, I'm picky about a smooth UI. Thanks for any info you could pass along. Ideally, I would like as buttery smooth graphics as are on the iOS devices.

Nova or Apex launcher is the way to go. I personally prefer Nova and think it is a lil smoother, to each his/her own though. They both have pretty slick transition and options. You will also get more options if you buy the premium versions, doesnt hurt to support the devs. They do great work.

I also find third party launchers like Nova and Apex are typically smoother over stock Sense in terms of just the launcher itself (home screens and app drawer). Launchers won't have any effect on system app performance though.

While overall the UI is pretty damn smooth, there are rare times when it hiccups or stutters when transitioning between screens and swiping. It's not 100% buttery smooth yet like iOS but it's almost there. :) Of course, experiences will vary.

I always use nova on my devices. I tried to stick with sense on my DNA. it just doesn't have enough options to keep me happy. It does seem to be faster than the standard manufacturer launcher. Sense is by far the best launcher/ui of most devices I've had.

Injected with Venomous Viper DNA
