Does it matter that the Pixel Fold won't ship with the Tensor G3?

What matters is fixing existing display defects before "moving on" to another product.

This is the current "flagship" Pixel 7 Pro. I call it green lantern model:

I think there are positives and negatives to that. At least Google is making strides with perfecting its current professor, meaning the Pixel Fold may not have as many bugs. But at the same time, a new professor would've been a nice matchup with a cutting-edge device with a likely-hefty pricetag.

It's a lost opportunity in my opinion. First, prob not many are delaying a FOLD 4 purchase to buy an Pixel Fold, so Google should give the market something more to get excited about than last years processor. Second, Google can release this whenever they want and can wait until Tensor 3 chip is ready for mass production in the Fold if putting in Pixel 8 first so technical limitations are not an excuse. Third, Google has more money than God so it cant be a financial issue. Fourth, the Galaxy Fold 5 will take another step in front of the Pixel Fold when it comes out. I don't think a more appealing screen ratio and camera processing tricks of the Pixel Fold will justify the exorbitant price and dated processor use vs the competition. I own a Fold 4 and prefer the Pixel Fold camera and screen sizes, but feel hard pressed that it justifies a switch.

Let's be honest though, the only people who will buy this thing at all are hardcore pixel fans. And they will buy anything with a G on the back lol.

I'm not going to lie I'm disappointed that it doesn't have the G3 but I'm sure they started getting this fold ready before the new chip was ready imo.. I think it's going to have a lot of positives like the ratio outside heightwise and all.. but I would be very leery with a Google first gen device and I'm not sure how that battery is going to perform. It's nice seeing some competition so I think this will help everyone
