does note 5 always fast charge?

So I know this is a dumb question, but I'm wondering if the note 5 always utilizes fast charging as long as the adaptive fast charger is used? I only ask bc sometimes the status says "fast charging" and sometimes the status simply says "charging" when I use the adaptive fast charger. Anyone know?

It should always fast charge, if you have it checked "on" in settings. Now, if for some reason you use different cables, and or an outlet in your house/work is not putting out normal voltage, this, "I guess" could cause the inconsistencies in fast charge. This is just my opinion, anyway.

I had my first experience with mine not fast charging yesterday, i thought maybe i didn't plug the cable in all of the way but it was when i tried to push it in more. I just unplugged it and plugged back in and haven't had an issue again. Not sure what could be causing this.
