I was in a phone store yesterday and picked up a HTC M9, the first impression is its back of the body is extremely hot and 810 gets hot is not a fake news at all. I didn't even try the phone yet, it was just that hot when I picked it up, of course the phone is at standby mode or something like that.

So One Plus Two may has the same problem? I don't see any phone brand has solved the 810 hot problem at all. There is no real One Plus Two in my local area for me to try it out.

Have been using OP2 for 3 weeks now. No heat issues encountered. It only gets a bit hot when I've been using it for quite some long periods like watching movies or browsing for hours. Other than that I'm quite satisfied with the performance.

I got both MXP and OPT. OPT is cooler device. mXP is probably better optimized phone though.

No. Idling it's pretty much room temperature and under normal load it might get a slightly warm, but nothing unusual.

I can MAKE it get hot by doing some very processor intensive stuff, but even that isn't really worse than any other phone I've used.

The only time I feel the device get hot is when I'm installing a lot of apps back to back like when I'm setting up the device. It has gotten pretty warm when in an intensive game, but nothing uncomfortable. I've had pone get hotter than the OPT.

Well it isn't really noticeable until you put it through the ropes, then it heats up like every phone I've had this year, note 5, Nexus 6, galaxy s6. It isn't any worse than those I listed. I'm thinking it's a non issue. The only time I ever got it real warm was during a graphics benchmark. But so did all the others listed. Day to day, it's a nonissue
