does the S6's OIS work better or the same as the iPhone 6 Plus?

OIS works for both photos and videos, though since the sensor is so small, don't expect the most amazing results! From what I've seen, the two work about the same. The S6 has a lower F-stop, so theoretically you should be able to get clearer pics from the S6 since it will have the 'shutter' open for less time.

Yes it works with both stills and videos. Google can be your friend, good read link: click here!

I'm hoping for better pictures as well. On my S4 I always get blurry pictures whereas all the Iphones I've used take pictures really fast without blur.

It was my favorite part of using the camera on the HTC M7 and M8. I had to work to get blurry shots. Cropping was a different story.

The OIS should work the same on both phones for both photo and video.

In the limited time I got to play with an S6 at Best Buy, my iPhone 6+ camera focused quicker and was able to capture more consistently clear pics than the S6.

That's unfortunate. When it comes to this I was hoping the S6 camera would be as good or better than the iPhone 6. With the iPhones I've used it was hard to get blurry pictures even when I tried.

I had to bring this up because I also find that the Galaxy S6s OIS isnt that effective at dampening handshake.

As for iPhones: It's probably because the iPhone 5s and up uses some sort of multi-frame tech which shoots a burst of photos, takes the sharpest edges of the photo, and combines them together to make one sharp shot. This happens in every single photo you take.
