Does recovring storage on google photos affect the photos on my hard drive?

My google storage is full so if i recover it by making the photos to high quality from the original quality would it reduce the quality of my actual photos on my phone storage?

What you see on your phone is thumbnails. When you click one photo, you see what's on Google storage. But unless the phone is a meter or two on a side, you'll never notice the difference in quality.

Welcome to Android Central! If the original photos are still saved on your phone's storage, then those will remain original quality (because they're the original files). When you view them on your phone using Google Photos, it should show the photo that's saved on the phone, and not in the cloud (and so it should show as original quality). But if you delete the photo from local storage, then you'll just be left with the High Quality version in the cloud.
