The icloud was, is and will always be bloody brilliant. I got an s7edge couple of months ago. I ran into one or two minor issues. Thinking of doing factory reset to fix these minor nuances and besides i think it's time i did one.

I think the only thing that i want to backup is my contacts. Rest i don't mind starting from afresh(i think). I don't like google contacts sync. Is there another way? I see samsung made me make an account and sometimes when i'm in my contact list it shows me whether i would like to save the contact to either Samsung account/Google Account.

Since there is icloud.com, is there something that samsung has?
Also smartswitch wasn't really the best option for me. It didn't work as good as i thought it out to be.

Samsung does supposedly save backups of your contacts to your Samsung account, among other stuff they can backup. But personally have not tried it. There are options to enable the sync though. I use Google.

I'm not sure what Samsung saves. I have used Google for years even if I'm using an iPhone. It works perfectly and I've never lost a contact, appointment, note or anything else.

In all my time with using an iPhone I don't think I have ever even heard a die hard apple fan call the iCloud brilliant. Lol. They usually talk about how it needs so much work. I'm glad it does what you need so well though.

I'd use Google if I were you, then you can use it regardless of the phone you choose.

It's your Google account, as long as you set it up to sync, it can take care of your contacts, photos (Photos app), and app settings
