Does the 4g Evo jam up when switching between signals?

My blackberry is notorious for this...it jams up when I switch from native-->roam and vice versa

It also jams when switching from 1XEV to 1X to 1x...I live in a really rural area and sprint is the best we have.

Can anyone that has an Evo take it into a low reception area and try this out for me please? Thank you.

If the EVO is constantly changing from 4G to 3G to 1X when I get it, I'm turning off the ability to roam. My BB Tour does this constantly right now and with the EVO giving you that whole unlimited data bla bla BS I wouldn't want it to be doing 1X on Verizon's network, especially since Sprint is supposedly very strict with data limits roaming.

That's mostly a Blackberry phenomenon, unless you want to count really old phones like PalmOS (Not WebOS!).

yep..i experienced it on my berries, along with my treo 700p (palmOS)

does it jam up though when switching a lot?

in the videos I have seen it's pretty smooth. The 4G radio takes a little time to kick in and acquire a signal though.

i would most worry about folks writing apps and not thinking about the Evo. when the Evo switches from 4g to 3g it also changes IP addresses. if someone doesn't account for that in their app then i think that is where you will find the most annoyances. until android has it in it's native code then i suspect it won't be on everyone's radar.
