Does the 4K video recording still look grainy?

Hello everyone,

I have a rather weird question I suppose... I currently have a Galaxy S8 and when I record in 4k the video is very grainy (searched online and a few forum posts come up with the same problem)

When recording in regular 1080p videos are just fine.

I am in the process of trading in my S8 towards a S10e but if the camera records like that again I see no reason to upgrade (to an S10e or S10)

Any info would be appreciated

I'm seconds away from purchasing just wanted to know if anyone is having 4K grainy footage especially when filming the sky

Grainy? Normally Samsung can record videos without an issue. I wouldn't worry about it. Buy it and see how it works for you. If it is messed up during that first 14 days just return it.

Understandable. Where are you getting it from? They should have a return policy so you could buy it, test for a few days, and then decide if it is worth it for you.

Should be a little better on the 10 over the 8. I think the main camera sensors were a carry over from the 9 except for the new wide angle right? So were basically looking at 9 type performance which should be a marginally better than the 8.

No OIS on the wide angle and Erica Griffin's test videos show a bit of choppiness/grainy in motion. Low light pics in reviews not at the level of Pixel or Huawei low light wizardry.
