Does the DInc not orient to the right????

FWIW, Froyo does fix this, but still won't rotate upside down, like my WM Omnia did.

When in landscape, the port on the right would be on the top. Since most docks are on the bottom, you are incorrect here. Do you understand how these docks usually work? you put phone in landscape into dock it has a landscape view and charges through the bottom (which is the LEFT edge). To use power on the "right" you would need to push up to charge and that would be a TON more difficult to design.

As for car mounts. When in landscape, your power port is now on bottom of phone FACING your expected power supply.

The power port was CORRECTLY put on the left side of this device. I still have no idea why this would be a problem unless you have a car mount that is not made for the Incredible.

Absolutely. I guess I could have worded my last statement better. Serves me right for drinking and posting My point was they could have designed it in any way for dock use. Heck they could have put the power input on the top right and achieved the same power location in landscape orientation and then the stupid usb cable wouldn't have been in the way when you type. They could have designed it however they wanted or needed to due to component layout, etc... They put it where they put it for a reason. That's all, not disputing your points.

Like I said multiple times. I don't have a dock. I don't have a mount. The console of the car has a pocket that fits the DInc perfectly in landscape mode. However I cant charge the phone and keep it in the pocket at the same time.

My gripe is with the orientation. It should orient in any direction left, right, even upside down(although I cant think of a reason to use it upside down.)

Apparently this is addressed in Froyo so this should be a non issue for me soon enough. That is if they ever release the OTA

Funny how I am talking about ANDROID phones and you go to phones running different OS. (NOTE: Blackberry has power port on left in Storm2, so I am not sure your point about BB.). Also iPhone docks are not made for landscape.

Motorola, HTC, and LG all put the power port on the left for ANDROID devices. I guess you and your friend are much smarter than they are.

Two pointls, I brought up the multitude of devices that do not use the left bottom for power as you keep posting as it is such a perfect design. And I do not know the other member posting about this.

What is interesting is that you ignore my valid points. Thank you. I thought we were in a serious discussion. I now see I was mistaken.
