Does the "Go! Jacket" protect Nook from Drops?

I just bought this "GO! Jacket" case for my Nook color from Staples: M-Edge GO! Jacket for Nook Tablet and Nook Color, Black | Staples? The sales rep told me that it'd protect it from falls, but the one near my house is notorious for having bad sales representatives so I don't trust them. Can anyone tell me if this will indeed protect my nook color from small drops (2-4 feet) inside and outside? If not, can someone point me to a case that would be sufficient in this task? I'm too afraid to even use my Nook until I get it the proper protection. I'd really appreciate any assistance, thanks!
