Does the LG G3 charge up via phone to computer (Macbook Pro) USB?

Hi. I tried two different USB cords today away from home into my new Macbook 15" retina. Neither was able to get the LG into charge mode. One was my Amazon Kindle Fire HDX cord and the other was from my last phone, a Moto G. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks!

Have you tried with the original cable.
Also are you trying to charge a completely depleted battery ?

The USB port may not be putting out enough power to charge the phone properly.

I'm embarrassed. I may not have been pushing the mini USB in far enough to LG. It works fine.
