Does the note 3 s-pen work in the note 2's capacitive buttons?

No, it doesn't. The Note 2's S-Pen does work on the Note 3's capacitive buttons, though, so the difference must be in the buttons and not the pens.

No it doesn't.... the buttons on the GN2 aren't captive buttons.

The buttons themselves (on the GN2) won't work with the pen.... thats all.
