Does the Note 5 support a microphone thru the headphone jack?

I have a set of Sony headphones that has a microphone built into the cord. I bought them around the time I migrated from the Note 4 to the Note 5. When I first got them, I was able to plug them into my phone, hear thru the headphones and talk using the microphone in the headphone cord during phone calls.

The headphones work with my Note 5, but the microphone doesn't. I'm not sure which phone I had when it was working.

Does anyone else use a set of headphones with a built-in microphone with the Note 5?

Yes. I use a set of Monster in ear with an inline mic. They work great. Have a higher end set ftom Shure with a mic that work too.

Thanks - not sure why these aren't working. I must have used them with the Note 4 previously.

It supports it, but must be some compatibility issues, similar to how my iphone earbuds can't control volume on the note5 and vice versa... mic works during calls tho...

Offering a guess here... Might there be a configuration setting so that if there are multiple microphones available, you can configure the one that you want to use?

Normally the plug disconnects the phone speakers and microphone, so only one set of speakers (the headphones) and the headphone mic would be used.

The only other difference is that this headphone has a button inline (opposite the microphone), which, with Sony's software, will change songs, volume, etc.
