Does the Supcase UnicornBeetlePro provide more or less the same protection as the OtterBox Defender?

Many YouTube reviews suggest not wasting money on OtterBox Defender for GalaxyNote8, instead they want us to buy the Supcase UnicornBeetlePro?

I really liked OtterBox's 3 layer protection, where as the Supcase UnicornBeetlePro provides 2 layers of protection. Does that make Supcase less protective?

The only downside for the OtterBox Defender is the usbC and Headphone jack cutouts facing upwards, which weakens the rubber frame around the case.

I am on my 3rd style phone using the unicorn beetle and so far have nothing but praise for it. I came from using Otterbox defenders on a series of phones. I will stick with the unicorn beetle from here on out. No issues whatsoever.

Forgot to mention.... I use the Whitestone dome with my unicorn beetle after removing the built in screen protector from the beetle. Works great.

I have an Otterbox Defender. It has on more than one occasion protected my phone, including one time it tumbled down a full flight of stairs (carpeted, but a lot of bouncing) with no damage whatsoever.
