Does the V10 have quick charge?

Yes it does, however the battery has a limited charge rate. I plug the LG original charger into my note 4 and get 1200ma charge rate. Same plug for LG gets 780ma rate. So a standard cable from the store gets my note 4 840ma and LG 530ma. So it is charging faster than an off brand but LG is naturally slower due to battery limitations.

It's quick charge sometimes. LG phones has the slowest quick charge times especially if you are using the phone while charging. I've had Motorola's and Galaxies and they both charge just as fast when I'm using the phone. With the V10, it barely quick charges when I'm using it. That's my biggest complaint though. I still love the phone

I have found its quick charge works best when the phone is not in use. Generally quick charging slows down if the phone is in use while plugged in.

Curious... is this a limitation of the OEM wall wart? will a bigger power supply alleviate this? Like ~2.5A at 9V?

It definitely charges much faster than the LG Optimus G pro, I would say by a factor of 4.

I am not sure though quick charging is that great, since it charges at a much higher amperage, I wonder if it wears out the battery faster.

The Reason it charges faster when not in use is simply because when you are using it you are consuming the current being used to charge. So if you are charging at 780mA without using the phone the battery is charging with the full 780mA. If you are using the phone and cunsuming 200mA then you are only charging at 580mA giving you a slower charge. The more current you are consuming the slower the batter will charge. If you have a none fast charge adapter charging at 380mA and you are using 400mA then your battery will actually drain while on the charger.

I have Successfully made my own cable out of Cat5 cable I have and some USB connectors I have. Making a standard cable gives me fast charge from my LG fast Charge adapter. So with that Adapter you will get fast charge with any standard Data USB cable you buy. If it is not a Data cable it will not provide fast charge (test only connecting power pins and not data pins) I will do some testing and see if There is a way to alter the data cable to provide fast charge from any adapter. Only options are a specific data signal from the Adapter or shorting pins. I will figure it out.

Ok so my tests revealed so far that you have to have a fast charge Adapter to get fast charge. This is the part that plugs into the wall if you don't know what part the adapter is ( I know, Duh, right. But I have found some people don't know). In order to use that adapter to fast charge you have to have a Data capable USB to micro usb cable. When you plaug the phone into the adapter the phone sends a signal that tells the adapter the phone is capable of fast charge. The Adapter then switches from 5V output to 9V output. When I shorted the Data pins the adapter then dropped back to 5 volts. Pretty much any USB to micro usb cable will allow you to fast charge your phone provided it can transmit Data. However you have to have a Charging adapter that supports fast charge otherwise you will only get 5V output giving you a standard charge rate.

well that's true for any phone. Ideally shut down the device.

Yep...I charged from 40% to 100% in an hour. The slower charge from 27-40% was when I was watching YT videos while plugged in.

The 7:33 usage on battery is when I fell asleep with the screen on its dimmest setting. Which was PLENTY of brightness.

Overal I am very happy with how this phone manages power and charging.
