Does the V10 support LG Airdrive?

I have the V10 for Verizon, and I see that LG has an application that will allow for wireless data transfer to a PC ("Airdrive"). I do not see this as an option in my settings on the phone, however. Any clues?

Hmmm,
Now why would they have done that? Would wireless file transfer compete with their services, or was it just being mean?

It competes with their services... Sync to the cloud or to a PC.. with the USB.

Annoying.

Should note there are 3rd party apps that work.. But still.

Because they want users to transfer data over their cellular network to their cloud storage solution.

The carriers are going to do everything they can to force consumers to use higher G cellular data plans and cloud storage subscriptions instead of wifi/wired connections and local storage. They are doing everything they can to eliminate our choices.

How do you get this to work on the AT&T version? It's not showing on my phone. Thanks.

I downloaded the app from the App Store and the pc version from the LG website. It also appears on the V10 under settings > share and connect. From there, I followed the directions, logging in on both devices. The V10 then appears in file explorer just like it does if connected by usb.

I've been a verizon customer since 1992, but honestly, the more I stay with them, the more frustrated I'm getting. I've got 5 smartphones with them. Yet the lies they train their salespeople to tell you at their corporate stores is enough to make me vomit. Im retiring in March and plan on sitting down with T mobile to do a side by side comparison. I won't go with AT&T. They're just as bad. Sprint is, well sprint. But T mobile seems to be doing quite a bit on improving their system and cutting bills for customers. It appears that they've taken quite a few of big reds customers too.

I think T-mobile has a loaner program where they will set you up with a phone number and phone of your choice free of charge for a 2 week trial period. My friend did that and was happy enough with their service to stay with them long term and ditch the ATT service he had been with for nearly a decade. For him it was how the ATT "unlimited" data plan capped him off at ~5G and throttled his speeds down to dial-up. Not sure what ever happened with the whole lawsuit and settlement, but its well documented on the www.

"Trust but verify" is how i treat this industry as a whole. I take everything said and advertised and google it for the real scoop.

So here's something interesting. I've been trying everything to connect my V10 to the LG AirDrive but nothing was working. It said it was trying to connect but would never get passed the first step of trying to identify my phone. Then since LG were adamant that I make sure my data is switched on before I tried to connect, I turned off my wifi on the V10 and then tried. Low and behold it connected like a charm.

This is a horrible way for it to work because it will east up all your data and it makes no sense that it won't connect via wifi. After connecting I enabled wifi and it immediately disconnected.

Not ideal at all but at least I got the V10 to connect to my Mac via AirDrive which was proving to be almost impossible before.
