I got a new car and it will display the text on the screen when they come in but I'm unable to get this to work. Wanting to know if it will transmit the messages via bluetooth to the radio.

thanks

I have no idea. Cool idea though. Which car is it?

It depends on the car...what did you buy?

Anyone try this yet or know if it works. I know the guy who said it does and he doesn't know lol

I don't know you from Adam. But it works beautifully in my Sonata. Tifwiw...

Do you have it running through the Bluetooth? Is it setup just basic Bluetooth or did you have to check any boxes on your phone at all? Just trying to figure this out.

So after reading on a forum for my vehicle(2011 ford edge sport) I came across a post of a apple fan boy saying the new iPhone would do MAPP PROTOCOL. So I looked it up and ours does as well so I went through the same settings and no dice. Jsch222 if you have any tricks let me know. Also do you think it is possible that sprint has restricted this feature. I will continue to look into this.

I was actually able to bypass the mapp protocol and get this feature to work in my 2007 Hyundai Sonata. And let me say, that its very cool!

I have a 2012 fusion and at first didn't work but after reading a few posts I was able to get it to work with my sync.

I have 2011 Milan and it works with SYNC. I had to update the SYNC software and enable MAP profile on phone settings. Now it reads the texts that I receive.

where in the phone settings does it have that at and do you have the my ford touch with the touch screen? thats what i have in my edge is the my ford touch with the touch screen.

On the phone go to settings, Bluetooth, hit the three dot menu button top right corner, hit advance FTP Server has to be checked as well as Message access.

I have a 2012 Focus & I haven't been able to get the text messaging portion to work either. I've checked the options under advanced for MAP settings on both the phone & in SYNC. I'll do as gikim1118 suggested & see if I have any software updates.
