Does tranferring photos to an external storage drive degrade the original quality once they are copied over?

Reason I ask is because my S22 is down to 10 gigabytes left out of 128, and I bought this storage drive to copy them to. I don't wanna go hog wild deleting from the device without being sure the quality of photos will remain intact before deleting after I copy them.

Solution
Copying a digital file should not degrade the image quality. Copying analog images (e.g., copying a VHS tape) will degrade, but not digital -- it's all 1s and 0s.
I haven't used one for storage but transfer a few over and see how they look

Thank you both. I checked em out by plugging the USB storage device into my note 9 and all my S22 images still look how they did when they were in the S22 storage. So this question is indeed solved :) Thank you both. And now I don't have to worry about running out of room for a while(was at 99% full)
