Does unlocked AT&T HTC One (M8) LTE work overseas?

I have a unlocked HTC One (M8) for AT&T. I currently live outside the U.S and my carrier's LTE band is 17 frequency is 700Mhz. I can only get LTE but cannot make calls. If I want to make calls I have to be on HSPA. Why is that?

LTE bands are regional and USA has different bands than overseas. I believe LTE coverage is divided in four regions globally so only you'll be stuck on HSPA away from US. No phone covers all the LTE bands that I'm aware of. Hope this helps.

Works in Canada on all 3 big carriers if that helps
