I purchased my LG G4 in November and had it for six months before I sent a text and then the screen went blank and I knew the phone died! Called LG and sent it in (under possibly the SLOWEST Fed Ex shipment possible - their shipping option, not mine) and they had it for 12 days. When I got it back I turned it on and it Got to the screen when it asked me what language I wanted to use before I saw the LG start up screen and then the phone died again! I called LG and they said it would have to be sent back to them for repair. I asked for expedited shipping (nope), a loaner phone (nope - to be fair I know this is a carrier thing but thought I'd ask since they DO have extra phones there), ANY form of compensation (nope) or help but was only told how sorry they were. It's now round 2, day 7, and I just found out my motherboard was the problem and it is being replaced. I'll simply wait for the Fed Ex truck next week once it's shipped.
I post this to let folks know that this is still an existing problem in case they might want to grab a reduced priced G4 now that the 5s are out. It's an odd repair process with LG and you need to know that you'll be without your phone and any specific updates from LG as the repair(s) are being made.
Does anyone with a replaced motherboard have any comments about the phone working well/better or are problems still existing following the replacement?
I like the G4 but the repair process, minimal customer service response, and little issues will probably keep me from buying another LG phone.
