Don't Know What to Think of My Battery Life..

Hey there all.

First time posting here. So I just got my AT&T HTC One a little more than a month ago and I really love the phone, but lately the battery has been acting odd. It started when I upgraded to 4.3, and over time it just got worse. Right now using the stock internet app, it seems like I'm losing 1% battery each 1.30-2 minutes. Watching YouTube videos, I lose a percent every 2 minutes. And I know Netflix is a battery hog, but each episode I watch that is around 22 minutes I loss about 8-10%. How do those numbers sound? I have my brightness at 40%, have location turned off, have almost every app I don't need disabled including those like Google Maps, Hangouts, Google+, and Google Search. No apps are running that are intense either. Like the only thing in power that's high is Android System, which is always above 80%.

Some pictures of me on the internet now:

So do you honestly think it's kind of draining too fast? I lost about 5% now by the time I go finished writing this.Any tips you can give me? I've restored the phone many times to factory already. I'm worried as if this is bad I don't have a warranty because I bought it off someone.

If I forgot to mention anything please tell me. I'm still a noob coming from iOS, so try*not to yell at me haha. Thanks.

I'd say this sounds pretty normal (although I can only go on my experience). Top of the range smart phones like the HTC ONE need to be charged every day on the whole (I charge mine on my bedside table while I sleep). One of the biggest drains on battery is the screen. It's why so many reviews talk about "screen-on time" when mentioning the battery. You say you lose 8-10% battery for 22 minutes of Netflix. That works out at roughly 24% an hour so just over 4 hours screen on time. To be fair that's not bad. It is a pretty big 1080p screen. Unfortunately, it's the downside of having an awesome phone-you want to use it all the time but the more you use it the more it drains. I'd imagine if you stick power saver on, stick it in your pocket for 3 hours without pulling it out once the battery will have drained very little. Anyway hope you stick with Android and learn to enjoy your HTC ONE. Lastly don't be afraid to charge your phone if you feel it needs it. With modern batteries letting it drop too low is worse than frequent charges.

Sweet, thanks for the tips! Just realized I made two threads on the same topic. I thought my first one didn't go through, so I made this one. Silly me. And now that I do think about it the battery is actually pretty darn good. Looking back at my 4S days, I lost 20% overnight with nothing on. At a point I had this thing for 5 hours not lose a single percent in my pocket. That was with power saver off. When I turned it on, I lost maybe 5-6% which is odd. I'm running without power saving now and I really do think I'm getting better battery life vs. it being on, which makes no sense. And thanks for the warm greeting. I know and feel like I'm going to be on Android for a while. Just so many more options than a iPhone has (not trying to start a war, just my opinion.) It's a shame most of my friends haven't heard of HTC and go straight to Samsung when they hear Android. From the speakers, to the build quality, just the way it feels, I'm glad I went with this phone. /lovestory over lol.

I don't notice much benefit with power saver mode either. Some people swear by it though. If you're getting good battery life without it though why bother? I don't as my battery life is pretty good. I agree completely about the HTC ONE being overlooked by many. The speakers are absolutely genius. I honestly can't understand why every new phone doesn't copy this feature now. It just makes so much sense.
