Double Alarm Clock Fail, S5, 5.0

This morning both me and my wife's S5 phones failed to activate the alarm clocks. Volume is set correctly, alarms were turned on as they always are, time set for 5:30AM ET and 5:46AM ET. Both phomes plugged into factory chargers. But...both phones alarm clocks failed. My 3 yr old woke us up at 6am, thank God!! This is NOT the first time the alarm clocks have failed, but it seems to happen once every couple months. What causes this? Do I need to go buy a mechanical alarm clock?? I can't afford to miss a flight, etc.

Yes buy a real alarm clock if you dont want to loose your job or miss a flight.
One of my employees was an hour late this morning because his iPhone 6 plus failed to go off.
