Double notifications

I just got a 16 gb Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon. I prefer to use GO SMS Pro as my messaging app. I disabled the stock messaging app and turned off the notifications. Somehow, I am still getting notifications from the stock app, in addition to the notifications from GO SMS Pro. Sometimes it will vibrate ,and sometimes it plays my default notification sound. I don't know what else to do.

Did you do this via Settings>Apps/Application manager?

Yes. First I turned off the notifications within the app, then I turned it off

You gotta do the same thing for Messages+

Verizon has two default SMS apps, make sure they are both turned OFF.

I too liked Go SMS Pro, but something bugged me about it a while back and I switched over to Textra

It must be an issue with Go SMS Pro because I am trying out Textra and I only get a single notification.
