Double tap opens to AOD not home screen.

I had to reset my phone and now can't figure out how to have double tap with screen off go directly to home screen. It's going to a black screen with a clock. Screen saver is off, AOD is turned off and lock screen set to never. I do have the double tap and lift phone options turned on. How do I get it to go directly to the home screen from a double tap? Thanks
