I downloaded an app one day that graphed currrent cpu usage. Curious I moved my finger around on the screen and saw how it affected cpu usage. I could get my cpu usage to spike if I felt like it. Using the accelerometer by moving the device around naturally used some cpu usage as well.
The affects on my Quadrant score? Well motion and touch sensor input halved my scores. So if you're wanting a bit better scores I suggest putting your phone on a table while you test with Quadrant- at least through the initial CPU steps.
As for other quirks I'll say for battery usage it improves if you don't worry about it. If you use the taskbar battery percentage mod or any other widgets- stop for your sanity. All you're doing is making yourself fret over percentage drops. I regained some sanity by using the good ole stock icon and you may too.
About the only thing I check any more is if the screen is off but the phone remains awake.
These, I believe, are partial wake locks. I usually end up rebooting my phone or sifting through 3rd party apps or settings that may keep the phone awake (syncing and whatnot) until I get screen and awake monitors to match up. Viewing awake status can be viewed from the battery history settings screen, Spare Parts app (see screenshots), or a step further with a logcat viewer (I use an app called Catlog every now and then).
Just thought I'd pass along some randomness
