If you want to root, look right below this and there is a thread on how to root 2.3. You cannot downgrade without rooting.

I downgraded to 2.2 because the voice search did not work while I drive in 2.3.

Ya im trying to root my samsung captivate on 2.3.5 but can't install odin on my macbook so i want to down grade to 2.2 for z4 root.
