Downgrade/root help

Okay, so I got my optimus s in january and ever since, I was a little bit unsure about rooting my phone because of possibly bricking it...but now I want to root it and I have a ZVD and android 2.2.2. I've looked up in a lot of forums how to downgrade it but only a bunch of complicated stuff comes up...(I'm usually really good with computers but this is confusing...) I was just wondering if there was any somewhat simple way to downgrade it. I already know how to root 2.2 but not 2.2.2, can anyone help?

Wow do some reading the answers are right here...very first post is about rooting with Gingerbreak on ZVD...if that doesn't sound easy rooting is not for you.

1) the gingerbreak download stops at 15% 2)i wanted 2.2 so I could easily tether via 3G without custom roms

welcome to the forum! try the simple rooting method with vd in my signature.

and IF you want to just revert (not for just rooting), it looks harder then it really is. It only takes 10-15 minutes (plus download time of the cab file, and putting KP500 on your computer ( when you download the cab file, place it in the same folder as KP500 )

Make sure to read through the directions several times before atempting. Always use copy/paste when entering commands

Spelling mistakes and not adding spaces where appropriate is the devil too. BUT typing manually is also good practice.
